Have you ever been eating anything, such as candy or ice cream, and felt something hard in your mouth that you were certain wasn't a part of the delicious meal you were devouring, only to discover, that it was a portion of your tooth? If you have, you'll be relieved to hear that you have several alternatives for repairing the chipped tooth. When you come to our clinic with a chipped, fractured, or rotting tooth, we have several options for you.
Fillings and Bonding's
If the damage is minor, we can fill it or, if the fractured area is likely to be seen when you open your mouth, such as when you smile, we can employ dental bonding. Both of them employ a composite resin that is the same color as your teeth, allowing them to fit in seamlessly with the rest of your teeth.
Dental Crowns
If your tooth is mostly decayed, we may recommend a dental cap or crown. The procedure entails assessing the amount of the tooth's damage, filing away the majority of the remaining portion, and then applying a dental cap to give the tooth the look of a full tooth. If the tooth is completely decaying, we may need to evaluate the root for integrity and then provide some support to it before placing the crown.
Dental Veneers
If you have a chipped or broken front tooth, dental veneers are an excellent option. A dental veneer is essentially what an artificial nail is to a fingernail or toenail. We install a composite resin or porcelain shell over the front of the tooth to cover the entire tooth.
Next time you have a cracked or chipped tooth don't be anxious. Just visit our clinics so that we can resolve the issue as soon as possible. Avoid hard dishes and foods at high temperatures while you're at it.
